I believe that change is possible for us all, although sometimes we can feel stuck. We are all a product of our past experiences, both good and bad, and it is these experiences that shape who we are.

We all make decisions about ourselves, others, and the world based on our experiences. However, these decisions are often made in a snap-shot of time and may no longer be serving us in a way which is useful.

We will work together in a co-created relationship to help you move past your unhelpful decisions that are underpinning your current difficulties. My aim is to support you in developing a greater understanding of yourself, which will enable you to not only move beyond your current tension but to then go on and thrive.

I work in a very comfortable and relaxed manner, ensuring you feel able to speak openly about what is troubling you and potentially say things out loud which you have never said before. That can seem scary, and it’s important to know that you will have my full professional support throughout your therapeutic journey.

I have experienced the therapeutic journey first hand and gone through the highs and lows of the therapeutic process. I get it! A requirement of my extensive therapy training meant that I to, had to go through an extensive therapeutic process.

Had I known the monumental impact therapy would have on both my working and personal life, I would definitely of sought this support much sooner!

I understand at times it can be tough, because let’s face it, you normally reach out for therapy when something is troubling you. No matter how challenging it may feel at times, I will be there to support you through that process, every step of the way. The reward is definitely worth it!

You may not be sure what the problem is when you come to see me, and that’s okay. We will work through this together to help you gain clarity. I practice Integrative Transactional Analysis (TA), a humanistic approach to counselling & psychotherapy. I work from an ‘Im Ok, Your Ok’ position which sees both therapist and client as equals within the therapy room and the work that we do is completed together.

Qualifications & Experience

I started my career with a real interest in people. What made them tick? Why do we think, behave, and feel, the way that we do? I studied Psychology at University to Masters level and I have worked within the NHS and Charity Sectors, within the fields of Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Domestic Violence.

Along this journey I completed a Diploma in Life coaching and NLP, which I use aspects of within my therapeutic practice. I then went on to complete my Diploma in Transactional Analysis.

Having gained extensive experience working within the public and charity sectors I decided that it was time for me to branch out. I opened my own private practice, as I personally wanted to be able to work with my people more autonomously, away from the restrictions of larger organisations.

What I can help with

I work with both individuals and couples. My individual work has seen me support clients through, depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement. Relationship difficulties and breakdown, problems at work, abuse,  trauma and many other challenging life experiences, some of which are not always tangible.

Within my couples work I have supported clients who are unsure if they want to remain together, through divorce/separation, co-parenting, infidelity, difficult transitional periods (such as kids leaving home, loss of an income, retirement) and those who are just going through a difficult time. I have worked with both heterosexual and same sex couples and have also worked with couples within a family unit (such as mother and daughter).
