Overcoming depression with Manchester’s Trenpa Therapy
I appreciate that reaching out for help with depression can feel like a big step. Talking to someone about your depression and asking them for help can be daunting and a little scary but, more often than not, it really is the first step on the road to recovery.
If you are wondering how to treat depression most effectively and how to really get your life back into an enjoyable, manageable state then I am here to help.
Here I will offer a little advice on how to treat depression using the methods that I am trained and experienced in. If you would like to talk in more depth about overcoming depression, Manchester and Bury based people can make an appointment to see me at one of my practice rooms.
Those based further afield can arrange a VSee session (Secure on-line video conferencing).
How to treat depression with psychotherapy
I am trained in two modalities – life coaching and psychotherapy. Of the two, psychotherapy is the one that I most usually advise for people seeking help with depression.
Whereas life coaching is very much about forward motion – setting, working towards and achieving goals – psychotherapy begins by looking inward to what is going on right now. This method can help you to understand yourself at a deeper level and thereby make changes that could, and often do, alleviate the symptoms of conditions such as anxiety, stress and depression in an holistic way, working from the route cause to bring about lasting change.
My role is to create a safe space that is relaxing, calm and always non-judgemental. We will work at your pace, to meet your needs in a way that feels helpful and accessible to you.
